I want to buy a new car this time I want to get it from the auction. I’m wondering if its a good choice? I also want to sell my current car and would like some advice on selling it?

At car auctions you have to be fast when checking them out.
-Many use magnets (typically covered in felt) to check for bondo…..obviously looking for accident damage.
-Look for inconsistencies in body lines….also to help determine body damage.
-Check for excessive oil in tail pipe or smoke if it’s running.
-Always ask them to turn the AC on.
-If the ‘drive’ tires are slick and the others aren’t, the car has usually run hard.
-Mirrors on canes can help give a quick look under the car….looking for damage or excessive fluid leaking.
-Always good to know the car’s history. If you can find out who owned it, it’s a plus. We’ve all heard the rental car horror stories. Look for stickers or key tabs that might say Avis or Hertz….also if it has stock floor mats but they are completely new looking, it’s likely to be a rental as most rental companies take them out of the car so they don’t get stolen and then put them back when they send it to auction.
I’ve purchased 5 cars from an auto auction. They were all under 25,000 miles and I’ve had zero issues.
Check and see if you can get “market reports”. This is history of previous cars and prices. This will give you the range the price should end at…and give you some idea of what is in your price range.

Question by James: How do i block people with zero feedback from my ebay auction?
I am trying to sell an expensive item, and the past experience i had, was that scammers with zero feedback would always bid on my item in the last minute of the auction. How do i block these people. PLEASE DONT REPLY SAYING EBAY DOESNT HAVE THIS OPTION, because they recently do, i just cant find out how to do it.

Unfortunately eBay does not allow sellers to set buyer requirements to block buyers simply because they have no feedback. You can block buyers with a negative feedback score (-1, -2, or -3), but if their feedback score is 0 or above there is no option provided by eBay to automatically prohibit them from bidding on your auction. There was an option a few years ago that you could use, but eBay did away with that when they made their sweeping changes last year (along with prohibiting sellers from leaving neutral and negative feedback). The only way for you to block a buyer with zero feedback is to individually enter their name into your blocked bidders list manually.

My condo is in foreclosure and an auction sale date is set for January 11th. Today, in shock, some inspector guys came here and were talking about changing the locks. Almost everyone always says you need people on your friend roster! I think this is ridiculous!
Say I wanted to display an item in the auction house that I could originally sell to nook for $ 1,000 (on the game). How much would I give the auction house for this item? Because I am never seeming to make any money…and I have no way of having any friends over with WiFi do to my stupid internet connection!

Many are hud auctions. Some are tax auctions where people dont pay their taxes but these are generally silent secret bid auctions at the courthouse.

Question by Blazini: Used car dealers: is Manheim the more expensive auction to purchase from?
I’m a few weeks away from opening my first used car business within Canada, however Manheim is an international used vehicle auction. I was wondering if it is also considered one of the cheapest auctions for purchasing vehicles. I have access to their website and I am overlooking the sale prices of the vehicles and the vehicles are more expensive than I originally anticipated.
So, if there are any used car dealers here: do you find Manheim as being a cheaper auction to buy from within your area?

they are all about the same on car prices.
Manheim, Adessa, Brashers, – about the same.
Problem is that quality used cars are hard to find right now. ANd dealers are stepping all over themselves to get whats out there to put on their lots. I attended a sale in Sacramenton on Tuesday. There were 209 cars, and over 600 bidders.
THAT is why the prices are higher than you anticipated. Look at Copart as well. They mainly do insurance cars, but there are also a lot of clear title, run and drive cars to be had there.
