Question by Shak: Is it a good idea to buy a used car from a REPO auction in order to save some money?
I’ve been wanting to buy either a Acura Intergra (sedan, auto)or a Honda Prelude (auto),and after considering being able to score a good deal from a REPO, added Lexus IS (auto) series to the list too..
First off , could any of you suggest, if buying from a REPO is a good idea, where and how to start with locating these auction?
I live in Sacramento
Also, How many different kinds of auctions are there anyway?
Second of all, of all the cars listed above, which one would you suggest buying. My budget is around $ 8000.
Every comment would be appreciated.
Thanks to everyone who answers here.
Best answer:
Answer by wayne First off, all the cars you listed are good cars, buy the one you like.
Far as the repo auction, people who get cars repoed, know its coming. This usually means they slack off on the maintenance. Look to see if the oil has been changed recently and such like that. Someone I know had a car repoed, and did not change the oil for 10 thousand miles. That hurts bad.
What you save from an auction can bite you in the butt in the future. Look for oil change info on the windshield and in the glove box.

Governments use them to sell everything from oilfields to pollution permits, and to privatize companies; consumers rely on them to buy baseball tickets and hotel rooms, and economic theorists employ them to explain booms and busts. Auctions make up many of the world's most important markets; and this book describes how auction theory has also become an invaluable tool for understanding economics.
Auctions: Theory and Practice provides a non-technical introduction to auction theory, and emphasises its practical application. Although there are many extremely successful auction markets, there have also been some notable fiascos, and Klemperer provides many examples. He discusses the successes and failures of the one-hundred-billion dollar "third-generation" mobile-phone license auctions; he, jointly with Ken Binmore, designed the first of these.
Klemperer also demonstrates the surprising power of auction theory to explain seemingly unconnected issues such as the intensity of different forms of industrial competition, the costs of litigation, and even stock trading 'frenzies' and financial crashes.
Engagingly written, the book makes the subject exciting not only to economics students but to anyone interested in auctions and their role in economics.
Question by nexus851@sbcglobal.net: In an Foreclosure auction. After you won a property bid, how do you protect yourself from leins?
In a courthouse auction held on a specific date for a specific piece of property usually there might be leins on bidded properties. I want to make sure i dont win a property that has huge outstanding leins.
Best answer:
Answer by kemperk very smart. that is why auctioneers suggest, before the auction,
that you do a lien search on all props you want to bid on. that
requires a title search to see what liens exist. Normally.
IRS liens will stay, and all others will disappear.

Charity's AuctionWhen Char bids on and wins both sexy doctors Hunky and Hottie in her hospital's charity auction, she knows exactly what to do with them and it's not tidily winks.
Although head nurse Char Reynolds is desperately head over heels for bad boy Dr. Dexter Graham, he's moved on. Still she gets caught up in bidding for him at the hospital's auction for the new children's wing and wins. His smug expression drives her to also bid on and win the very hunky Dr. Ben Price, Dexter's nemesis and to plan a very naughty, very sexy night with both men.
Sold (The Auction)Christy Clarkson finds herself at an exclusive charity auction where she’s agreed to be one of the participants who will be auctioned off and will share a weekend for two at a resort hotel with the high bidder. There is added intrigue when she learns that members of an elite kink club are participating in the auction.
Years ago, she broke up with Zach Nikas when she found his pictures of bound women. She was naïve about what his bondage interests meant and she ran from the relationship. Ever since she left him she’s explored the kink only to discover that it intrigued her, though she never actually participated.
When Zach show up at the auction as a bidder, Christy is exhilarated to see him. No one else stands a chance of winning her over Zach.
Her curiosity about kink is about to become experience.
He’s hot and sexy, intelligent and successful, and just happens to have a well-outfitted dungeon. A dungeon where Christy learns what Zach and “play” are all about.
This is a 30,000-word novella + excerpts, sure to light your world on fire.

Putting Auction Theory to Work (Churchill Lectures in Economics)Providing a comprehensive introduction to modern auction theory and its important new applications, this book is written by a leading economic theorist whose suggestions guided the creation of the new spectrum auction designs. Aimed at graduate students and professionals in economics, the volume provides the most up-to-date analysis of traditional theories of "optimal auctions" as well as newer theories of multi-unit auctions and package auctions, and shows by example how these theories are used. It explores the limitations of prominent older designs, such as the Vickrey auction design, and evaluates the practical responses to those limitations. Paul Milgrom is the Leonard and Shirley Ely Professor of Humanities and Sciences and Professor of Economics, Stanford University. He is the author of more than sixty articles and co-author of the influential textbook, Economics, Organization and Management (Prentice Hall, 1992). Professor Milgrom is a pioneer in the economic theory of auctions and co-designer of the simultaneous, multiple round auction that the FCC adopted for selling radio spectrum licenses.

www.youtube.com … About me and my Channel: Like some of you reading this I have been involved in the reselling business in one form or another since early childhood. I like to use the term entrepreneur. One of my first ways to make money as a kid was mowing lawns. I worked very hard one summer to save up for a VCR (when they used to be very expensive!). I have always enjoyed yard sales, garage sales, auctions, etc even as a kid. I used to tag along with my father to auto auctions, estate sales, and the occasional storage unit auction. The older I got the more involved I became at making money for myself. I loved the idea of being self-employed, buying, selling, meeting people, and basically hunting for treasure! Fast forward to today I am primarily involved self storage unit auctions, yard sales, estate sales, making money, selling on ebay, selling on craigslist, and any other way to make an extra income. I say extra income because I do currently have a full time career which pays the “bills”. My true passion however is everything mentioned above. When you are doing something you love then it is never work! I started my channel out of pure entertainment for myself and quickly got hooked into the youtube community. I enjoy making videos and sharing with everyone pages out of my life in the storage auction, picker, reselling, and make money world. Thank you for all the love and support you have given me thus far! Chris-

Question by Tissa: How do you go about getting a car from an auction?
i am planning on buying a vehicle next month, but i dont have a lot to spend. People keep telling me to go to an auction because you can get a nice car for really cheap but no one knows how to get involved in an auction…anyone here know???
Best answer:
Answer by Santa C Ebay motors is a good auction. I like it bc it’s mostly ok cars sold by your average person (most sellers are not dealers). Some of the local car auctions have a lot of cars that dealers took as trade-ins but don’t want because they need a lot of repair. I’d suggest that you get a car with less than 100K miles on it. You can have the car transported if it’s far away (look in the yellow pages for automobile transporters). Or ask the seller for delivery or pick up options.
